STEM education takes an interdisciplinary and hands-on approach, teaching students Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) through real-world applications. Instead of learning these disciplines separately, students explore how they work together in practical, everyday situations.
Venture into the World of STEM Education
What is STEM Education?
The Ministry of Education Malaysia initiated the STEM education program as part of the Malaysia Education Blueprint 2013-2025. This initiative aims to equip students with the skills needed to face challenges in science and technology while ensuring the country produces enough qualified STEM graduates.
STEM uses an integrated approach to teach Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics emphasizing real-world applications. Unlike standard classroom settings where objects are taught separately, STEM encourages a cohesive learning model.
Innovative Thinking Method
PHASE #1 : Imagine
In this phase, students explore creative ways to solve problems by thinking outside the box and brainstorming solutions.
PHASE #2 : Build
Students are introduced to key tools and systems and then develop their ideas with an engineering mindset, turning concepts into reality.
PHASE #3 : Have Fun
Here, students experiment with their designs, test their ideas and enjoy the process. They also learn from their outcomes and improves their projects further.
PHASE #4 : Be Creative
This phase helps students stay innovative, challenge conventional methods and create fresh ideas while following ethical guidelines and project rules.
PHASE #5 : Tell
Finally, students share their journey, explaining their problem-solving process and steps taken. This sharing contributes to greater collective learning and knowledge growth.
